So many routes to cycle, so much to see and do

Exe Estuary Trail: This trail runs north from Exmouth along the east bank of the Exe Estuary adjacent to the Avocet Railway Line, passing through the picturesque villages of Lympstone (then next to the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre) and Exton to the historic port of Topsham, having stunning views over the estuary to the Haldon Hills beyond, before extending to Countess Wear and Exeter. The route continues south from Countess Wear down the west side of the estuary along the Exeter Ship Canal towpath to the Turf Hotel, then onto Powderham and then to Starcross, where a ferry to Exmouth can be boarded. It is possible to continue onto Dawlish Warren and Dawlish but it would be necessary to cycle on the main road. Along the trail you will take in some breathtaking scenery and you will be able to see huge mudflats at low tide. These are a key source of food for many rare and interesting birds. At high tide, the views are transformed into a large expanse of rippling water, scattered with colourful boats of all shapes and sizes. This trail starts from outside Exmouth Sports Centre. Distances are given in the detailed information sections.

Buzzard Cycle Route: This path joins Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton along a former railway line. This is a quieter route passing through beautiful East Devon countryside, largely overhung with trees and with gentle gradients. This trail also starts from outside the Sports Centre. It is approximately five miles from Exmouth Sports Centre to Budleigh Salterton sea front.

Exmouth Seafront: There is a pavement-mounted path which runs along most of Exmouth Seafront overlooking the sea and two-mile-long beach of golden sand. It is easily accessed from the far end of Victoria Road, in which our shop is located.

Please note - all the above routes are shared-use paths with walkers, so please be considerate to other users when cycling. They are well signposted which makes for more enjoyable riding.
